ABOUT THIS COFFEE
Swiss Water Process El Paraiso Decaf has a fresh, clean cup with a mild acidity, medium body and notes of bittersweet chocolate, brown sugar, and graham cracker. The lot was curated from coffee farmed by smallholders in the Honduras' El Paraiso Department.
The coffee was decaffeinated by Swiss Water using pure water in a 100% chemical-free process. Using Swiss Water's patented method the green coffee was processed for 10 hours and rendered 99.9% caffeine-free.
El Paraiso was devastated by leaf rust a decade ago. However, while the farms were collapsing, the producers remained optimistic and proud. Molinos de Honduras, our team in Honduras, describes them as “shining as brightly as their coffees” and absolutely determined to make El Paraiso a must-have for specialty coffee roasters.
The coffees of El Paraiso feature beautiful floral notes and delicate acidities, as well as a touch of dark chocolate. Our team created this lot to showcase sparkling, bright, fresh flavors.
